About Charnwood Commercial Bodies
Charnwood Commercial Bodies Ltd specialises in lightweight, low-loading Luton bodies for 3.5 tonne commercial vehicles. With more than 15 years of experience, we have developed a unique build that increases payload without compromising internal space.
Our work is supported by an in-house design engineering team, allowing us to offer both traditional and bespoke vehicle bodies. From our growing 36-person team to our latest workshop expansion, every part of the business is focused on practical design, reliable workmanship and helping customers get more from every vehicle we build for them, every day on the road.

Experience, Facilities and Capacity
Charnwood Commercial Bodies was created following a rebrand in 2020, building on years of previous experience in specialist vehicle body manufacturing. In January 2026, we expanded into a 77,000 sq ft base made up of nine workshop units, giving us the capacity to produce an estimated 500 vehicles per year.
Our facilities include dedicated fabrication and fibreglass units, two large production workshops for vehicle assembly and additional areas for bespoke conversions, including horse boxes, traffic management vehicles and other specialist commercial projects, all managed on site by our experienced growing team.

Quality sits at the heart of every vehicle we build. We work closely with internationally recognised vehicle manufacturers and hold National Small Series Vehicle Type Approval (NSSTA) across our vehicles, helping ensure industry standards are met and exceeded.
To improve fuel savings, usability and carrying capacity, our bodies are made using lightweight, recyclable composite materials. The result is a range of commercial vehicle bodies designed to deliver strength, efficiency and dependable performance for everyday business use, without unnecessary weight or wasted space for operators across business sectors.
VEHICLE BODIES
The Enfield and Luton Bodies
Our flagship model, the Enfield, is built on a low-floor platform cab and achieves a market-leading payload capacity of up to 1,350kg, almost half a tonne lighter than a standard box van. This allows businesses to carry more with every journey, improving efficiency and profitability.
For customers needing a traditional Luton van or specific internal dimensions, we offer a full range of body specifications. We also build curtain sides, dropsides, fridge vans and TM vehicles, each designed to maximise usability and payload potential across a wide range of working requirements, operators, businesses and sectors.
